About this area....

The principal Gold Mine in this area of Colorado operated continuously from 1870 to 1925, and produced 220 thousand ounces of gold, worth $4.4 million plus considerable silver, lead, and zinc. There were two aerial tramways connecting to the Mine and the Denver, South Park and Pacific Railroad. In 1984 the Historic American Engineering Record recorded the structures then standing in the area and many are still standing today (Including the mill I mention).

More about the claim...

This claim is at the foot of the (privately owned) Gold Mill and Tailings that is the actual mill for that principal Gold Mine. It is not on my claim, but the view is outstanding! One of the Gold Rich Creeks is running through the claim for about 400'. There are numerous old dig holes on the property with some of the old wood still showing in the shafts. There is also what appears to be an old tunnel entry that has been covered through years of movement in the soil.

If you are interested in gold panning or just picnicking with your friends or family in a beautiful quiet, serene, historical area of Colorado, this is the claim for you!
